Fitness and Wellness

Fitness Center

The Fitness Centers of The MAC and East Hills cover about 40,000 square feet and have over 178 different pieces of strength training equipment. Over 116 cardiovascular machines are linked to our cardio theater sound and television system. We feature top of the line equipment. Our strength equipment is, well, a major strength! Our centrally located Fitness Center Service Desk is your source for knowledgeable fitness guidance and advice.

Because our three health clubs are members of the Saint Mary's Health Care Network, we go beyond exercise and fitness – offering many different condition-specific classes and programs. They are available at Saint Mary's Health Care, Wege Institute for Mind, Body & Spirit, and at The MAC, East Hills, and Orchard Hills.

Wellness Coaching

Our staff of dedicated fitness professionals has expanded their expertise to the field of Wellness Coaching. Wellness Coaching is an emerging profession that began about ten years ago. Behavioral scientists have shown that one on one coaching is among the most effective approaches to helping people make and sustain improvements in their lives. The relationship between a coach and a client offers a profound level of support, guidance and encouragement to making changes without being judgmental. Through thoughtful assessment and inquiry, collaborative problem - solving and goal - setting, with a safe, open, and honest dialogue, coaches help their clients become clearer on where they are, where they want to go and how to get there.

Contact Kristi Tuck at kristi@michiganathleticclub.com for more information and to get started today!

"What I learned most from (wellness coaching) was that any issue that I may face...physical, job-related or personal... will always be a work-in-progress.... it is how I choose to work on them that counts. I found that the answers to everything I needed were inside me and always were."   ~ Sue
