Camp Features
Special Camp Features
Strategy Sessions: Our weekly classroom sessions will allow us to discuss strategy with the players and help them learn how to use strategy to win more matches.
Off-Court Training: Along with special guests, our pros are ready to teach students what it takes to be the best they can be on and off the court. Each week, our players will hear the latest on what it takes to become a better athlete.
Fieldtrips: Players that enroll in the academy will be offered tennis related fieldtrips that will enhance their summer tennis experience.
Tournament Coaching: Players enrolled in the Tennis Academy will receive coaching at selected tournaments throughout the summer. These will include the WMTA Qualifier, Western Closed, Hot Summer Open, and Dog Days Challenger.
Friday Match Play Day: Every Friday will be a special play day at the Academy. Rather than drilling, our players will join players from other programs and play practice matches the entire day. Our 12 outdoor and 12 indoor courts (MAC and East Hills) allow us to play doubles and singles. We also use this opportunity to split into teams and teach kids the value of tennis as a team sport.
Daily Match Play: Our students will compete in practice matches every day. Our coaches will be right by their side, training them on decision making, mental toughness, tactical adjustments and strategy. There is no substitute for match play when it comes to improving ones game!
Player Journals: Each player that enrolls in the Academy will receive a copy of the book "Strategy—the complete guide to how to beat every style of player" by USPTA Master Professional Jorge Capestany. Our goal is that each player will become a smarter tennis player after their time at the Academy.
Weekly Parent Email Update: Every week, players’ parents will receive an email update reviewing everything that was covered that week. This provides the information so that parents can connect with their kids and talk tennis! (Email address must accompany registration to receive this benefit.)
